Introduction

I offer professional driving tuition, and cover Kendal Driving Test Centre, and the surrounding areas.

I can teach those that have never driven before, right through to the more experienced driver that would like to refresh or advance their driving skills.

I achieved Grade ‘A’ for the standards of my tuition, at my last assessment by the DVSA.

My tuition car is a 2022 Manual Black Ford Fiesta 1.0 Hatchback, and you will find it a quiet and comfortable car to learn to drive in.

I welcome everyone regardless of Age, Colour, Disability, Ethnicity, Identity, Religious or Spiritual Beliefs, Sex, or Sexual Orientation, including those that are nervous, unconfident, or face any Physical or Mental Health challenges.

If I am unable to take your call, please leave a Message, Text, or an Email to discuss your options, & I will get back to you as soon as possible.

I look forward to helping you find the freedom that independent driving can bring you.

Thankyou very much,

Phil.

Driving Test Report

Driving Lessons & Prices

I offer flexibility, with the majority of my Pupils booking one or more 2 hour driving lessons each week.

My standard lesson price from 5th April 2024 is £40.00 per hour, including Weekends, Bank Holidays, for pre-test preparation, and use of my tuition car for your driving test.
You should find this competitive, & good value for money. I will also provide you with some pre-test preparation free of charge.

I do not provide Intensive driving courses, as I prefer my Pupils to benefit from a wider experience including private practice where possible over a longer period of time.

I am happy to provide you with more than one lesson each week when I have availability though, for those wishing to reach test standard sooner.

Special Offers

Recommend new pupils and receive a free 1 hour Driving Lesson worth £40.00 for each introduction, after the first lesson has been paid for.

Driving Tuition

I am a DVSA Approved Driving Instructor, and I abide by the ADI Voluntary Code of Practice. I will provide you with a copy of this, and some other helpful documents at the start of your driving lessons with me.

I trained with the AA Driving School, and I am committed to maintaining high professional and ethical standards. My Terms & Conditions are linked to the Code of Practice.

You Must

  • Be 17 years of age or over, or 16 years of age or over, and in receipt of the higher rate Disability Living Allowance (Mobility Section)

  • Hold a valid Provisional or Full UK Driving Licence.

  • Be able to read a number plate at a distance of 20.5 metres (67 feet) with or without prescribed visual aids - Contact Lenses or Spectacles.

  • Notify me of any matter that may affect your ability to drive, including any medication taken, or where your fitness to drive is adversely affected by alcohol or drugs. I reserve the right to cancel your lesson if I believe this to be the case, and payment may still be required in full.

Punctuality

You and I both agree to wait 15 minutes after the agreed start time of your driving lesson, before postponing or cancelling your lesson. If I am responsible for any lost time I will record the fact, and mutually agree making up the time with you, either at the end of that lesson or at another mutually agreed time.

Driving Test

The practical driving test can be booked by either of us, but if you decide to book your test yourself, please let me know beforehand to ensure that I am available for it.

On rare occasions it may be necessary to postpone or cancel your driving lesson, so that priority can be given to another pupil's driving test. In this case, a rescheduled lesson will be mutually agreed between us.

I reserve the right to refuse the use of my tuition car for your driving test, if I consider you are not ready for your test, and I have informed you of this in advance where possible.

Postponement/Cancellation

A minimum of 24 hours notice is required by either of us to postpone or cancel your driving lesson. If less than the minimum notice period is given, you agree to pay me in full. If less than the minimum notice period is given by me, (other than in cases of ill health, mechanical breakdown, or other emergency) I will provide you with a similar driving lesson free of charge.

The DVSA require 3 clear working days notice to change or cancel your practical driving test. I will advise you of your readiness to take your test well in advance, but it could mean that you may lose your driving test fee if I advise you that you are not ready to take your driving test during the stated 3 day period.

I reserve the right to postpone or cancel your driving lesson on the day, if I deem the road or weather conditions to be unsuitable or dangerous. If this is the case, we will mutually agree another date for your driving lesson, and neither of us will be liable for any costs.

Driving a Car

Pass Plus Course

I am Pass Plus registered with the DVSA. Pass Plus is a road safety initiative aimed at those that have passed their driving test and wish to develop their driving skills further within the next 12 months.

Training takes at least 6 hours, and consists of 6 modules covering driving:

• In Town
• In All Weathers
• On Rural Roads
• At Night
• On Dual Carriageways
• On Motorways

All modules should be practical sessions, although local conditions may mean some are theory based. You will normally spend at least 5.5 hours driving though.

You will not take a test, but you will be assessed by me throughout the course. To pass, you will have to reach the required standard in all 6 modules.

You will then be on the road to becoming a safer driver, and will be able to benefit from a significant reduction in your car insurance premium through participating Insurance companies.

Motorway Driving Lessons

In addition, or as an alternative to the Pass Plus Course, I am happy to provide you with training on the M6 Motorway, either before or after you pass your Driving Test as apprporiate.
